Narayan ( Nepali नारायण ) is a mountain town and administrative seat in western Nepal in the Dailekh district in the Karnali province .

Narayan is connected to Birendranagar and Nepalganj by a dead end road. The area is 110 km².

history

In the course of the restructuring of the local level and the creation of the Gaunpalikas (rural communities) by amalgamating and abolishing the Village Development Committees on March 10, 2017, the VDC Bhawani, Bindhyabasini and two wards of the VDC Khadigaira were incorporated .

Residents

At the 2011 census, the city of Narayan had 21,110 inhabitants (9866 of them male) in 4678 households. As a result of the incorporation in 2017, the population increased to 27,037.
