Nasri Tony Atweh (born January 10, 1981 in Toronto ), also just called Nasri , is a Canadian musician and record producer. He is the front man of the R&B reggae band Magic!

Life

Nasri grew up in Toronto. His parents were Palestinian immigrants. Nasri started singing at the age of six. He studied at Senator O'Connor College School, where he was also a member of the school choir. In 2002 he won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest with a song written by his friend Adam Messinger.

Nasri is in a relationship with the German singer Sandy Mölling and has a son with her; the family lives with Mölling's son from a previous relationship in Los Angeles.

Career

Solo career

Nasri had had some success as a solo artist in Canada. His song Best Friend was played on the radio in his hometown, which increased his popularity. In 2012 Nasri released the single You Deserve It Better .

The Messengers

Together with Messinger he founded the producer duo The Messengers . Nasri helped reunite the New Kids on the Block in 2007. Nasri has written for musicians such as David Guetta , Akon , Jason Derulo , Justin Bieber , Jay Sean and Vanessa Hudgens .

Magic!

In 2012 he founded the band Magic! His friends Mark Pellizzer and Ben Spivak were immediately there, but they lacked a drummer, which is why they took Alex Tanas into the band. In 2013 the band released their debut single Rude , which reached number 6 on the Canadian Hot 100 . The band is under contract with Sony Music Entertainment, Latium Entertainment and RCA Records.
