Natalia Olegovna Dushkina

Natalja Olegowna Duschkina ( Russian: Наталья Олеговна Душкина ; born November 7, 1954 in Moscow ) is a Soviet - Russian architect , architectural historian and university professor .

Life

Duschkina, granddaughter of the architect Alexei Nikolajewitsch Duschkin , graduated with honors at the Moscow Architecture Institute (MArchI) in 1978. In 1982 she received her doctorate as a candidate in architecture.

Duschkina's research area is the history of architecture and urban planning . She became an expert in the preservation of cultural heritage . She became a professor at MArchI and the Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography .

Duschkina published her many scientific studies at home and abroad, wrote monographs and edited anthologies. She participated in many scientific conferences and symposia and organized important conferences. She gave guest lectures in many countries.

Duschkina is a member of the Federal Scientific Council for Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation . She is an expert at the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), was a member of the Executive Committee from 1990–1996, is a founding member of the Committee for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the 20th Century and is a member of the Committee for Theory and Philosophy of Preservation. She is a member of the International Working Party for Documentation and Conservation of Buildings, Sites and Neighborhoods of the Modern Movement . She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Development of Moscow's Melnikov House Museum. She is a member of the St. George's Guild founded by John Ruskin .

Honors, prizes

  • Publication award of the architectural competition Zolotoje Setschenije ( Golden Ratio ) of the Moscow Union of Architects (2003, 2005, 2007)
  • Gold diploma for the best publication of the XIII. International Construction Festival 2005 of the Union of Architects of Russia
  • Kometsch Prize for Defense and Preservation of the Cultural Heritage of Russia (2008)
