Natan Samijlowytsch Rybak (* December 21, 1912 . Jul / 3. January 1913 greg. In Ivanovka , Kherson Gubernia , Russian Empire ; † 11. September 1978 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR ) was a Ukrainian - Soviet poet and socialist-realist writer Jewish Origin.
Life
Natan Rybak was born in the village of Ivanovka near Novoarchanhelsk in what is now the Ukrainian Oblast of Kirovohrad . Between 1929 and 1931 he studied at the Kiev Institute of Chemical Technology. In 1930 he published his first poem in the Kiev newspaper "Proletarian Pravda" and in the following two decades he published 3 collections of poetry and 20 short stories. His historical-biographical novel Pomylka Onore de Bal'zaka (German: The Error of Honoré de Balzac ) from 1940 was made into a film in 1969. In 1950 he received the Stalin Prize for the first book of the 1948 novel Perejaslawer Rada , in which he describes the Khmelnytskyi uprising as a reunification struggle between the Ukrainian people and Russia .
In 1940 he became a member of the CPSU (B) and between 1941 and 1945 he took part in the German-Soviet War as a military correspondent for the Red Army .
Natan Rybak was married to the sister of Oleksandr Kornijchuk and lived in Kiev. There he died in a car accident at the age of 65 and was buried in the Baikowe cemetery .
