Natascha Schaffrik-Hindelang , b. Schaffrik , gsch. Tomczyk , (born May 6, 1975 in Darmstadt ) is a former German ice hockey player who was active for many years for the Mannheim ERC , TuS Wiehl , Frankfurt ESC and ERC Sonthofen in the women's ice hockey Bundesliga . With the German national team she took part in a total of five world and four European championships. She has been an ice hockey coach since the end of her career.
Career
Natascha Schaffrik began her career in the male junior teams in her hometown of Darmstadt. She later played for the juniors of the Frankfurt ESC before moving to the Mannheim ERC . In 1990, at the age of 15, she took part in an ice hockey world championship for the first time and took seventh place with the national team. With the MERC she won the German championship in 1990 and 1992.
In 1995 she moved to TuS Wiehl , for whom she continued spoielte in the women's ice hockey Bundesliga and was runner-up in 1996. During the 1996/97 season she moved within the Bundesliga North to the women's team of the Frankfurt ESC before returning to the MERC for the 1997/98 season. In 1999 and 2000 she won two more championship titles with the Wild Cats of MERC.
In the early 2000s she was known as Natascha Tomczyk, but later reverted to her maiden name (Schaffrik). Before the Olympic Games in 2002, Tomczyk was removed from the Olympic squad by national coach Rainer Nittel because of alleged behavior that was harmful to the team. As a result, she subsequently lost membership of the Bundeswehr sports promotion group and then completed a distance learning course (fitness economics). At that time she had completed 155 international matches for Germany.
With a total of 159 international matches, she is one of Germany's record national players .
