Naturi Naughton Caro Maria (* 20th May 1984 in East Orange , New Jersey ) is an American actress and singer .
Career as a singer
After being involved in various children's choirs, Naturi Naughton became known in 1999 for her membership in the R'n'B / Pop group 3LW , whose debut album was sold 1.3 million times. After a public dispute, Naughton left the band in 2002 and started a solo career. Her first chart success was the song Fame , covered by Irene Cara in 2009 , which she presented on the occasion of her role in the remake of the same name .
Career as an actress
Naughton started her acting career in 2005 with a role in the Broadway musical Hairspray , in which she played the role of Little Inez until 2008 . After various TV appearances, Naughton played roles in the films Notorious BIG and Fame in 2009 .
In 2012 she starred in the drama series The Client List , opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt , as Kendra .
