Rimmert nature reserve

The nature reserve Rimmert is a 17 hectare nature reserve (NSG) east of the village Benolpe in the municipality of Kirchhundem in the Olpe district in North Rhine-Westphalia . In 2008 the Arnsberg district government designated the area as an NSG by ordinance.

Area description

The NSG is a large quartzite block dump with habitat-typical animal and plant species within a mixed beech and oak forest. This is characterized by the mostly moss and lichen-rich quartzite blocks scattered throughout the area and the still partly recognizable coppice forest character .
