The nature reserve Stelborner Klippen is a 3 hectare nature reserve (NSG) east of the hamlet of Stelborn in the municipality of Kirchhundem in the Olpe district in North Rhine-Westphalia . In 2003 the Arnsberg district government designated the area as an NSG by ordinance. The NSG has also been designated as a FFH area of Stelborn Cliffs since 2004 .

Area description

The NSG consists of four silicate rocks made of ash and crystal tuffs and rubble heaps with a beech-oak forest. There is a rare crevice vegetation on the silicate rock. In the southwest of the NSG there are two vertically sloping cliffs up to 10 m high, surrounded by a small strip of deciduous forest. Above a path that crosses the NSG, there are two more rocks in a beech-oak forest that is partially covered with rubble. The approximately 8 m high rock to the west has a large occurrence of northern striped fern on south-facing, unshaded rock areas .
