history

After the lands of Groß Heere had been reconnected in the years 1848 to 1858, the Groß Heerer Kotsaß Johann Heinrich Conrad Naue (1819–1898) far from the village on the Chaussee Goslar - Hildesheim on the parcel Im Elberfeld was given an approximately 50 acre plot Piece of farmland. According to a list of houses from the community of Groß Heere, he built a stately farm there in 1862, which was soon named Nauenburg. According to oral tradition, Conrad Naue initially wanted to build the farm in Groß Heere when the neighbors made him aware that he could build on his field, which then happened. Conrad's brother Heinrich Naue stayed on his parents' farm in Groß Heere (today Schlieckau). Both brothers came from a long-established family that can be traced back to the years of the Thirty Years' War in the villages of the Innerste Valley . As a sideline, Conrad Naue opened an inn in his new house.

It was probably during these years that a restaurant that was mentioned in 1822 and located only a few hundred meters away in Söderhof was given up, so that the license was granted to him as a replacement.

In 1883 a total of five people lived on the Nauenburg: Conrad Naue, his wife Therese Luise Dorothea (née Ohlendorf), whom he married in 1852, their son Gustav Heinrich Hermann, born in 1865, the servant Heinrich Hoffmeister and the maid Dina Brunder. After Conrad Naue's death, his son Gustav inherited the property. He had married Anna Emma Meta Burgdorf (1870–1949) in Luttrum in 1891. At the turn of the century, the restaurant was leased after the agricultural area had been increased. One of the first tenants named Marowski ran a bicycle shop in addition to the inn. In 1928 Gustav Naue died, his son (1898–1956), who was also called Gustav, inherited the property. He married Alma Hefner in Quedlinburg in 1932 , widowed Oelmann (1899–1984).

In the years before the Second World War , the restaurant was run by Roger Schaare and his wife Emma from Ringelheim, among others . During the war the restaurant business was closed.

In 1956 it was connected to the public power grid. Previously, electricity had been generated with the help of a generator that was only sufficient for lighting. The next tenants were called Droß from Salzgitter and Albert Bauer. In 1965 Gustav Naue's daughter Lisa and her husband Wilfried Fremdling doubled the size of the inn by adding an extension, and they also modernized the building. The restaurant business was leased to a brewery from Braunschweig . The sub-tenants at this time were Hitzemann, Romainschick and Oppermann. In order to ensure the water supply in dry years, a 1.5 km long water pipe was laid to Klein Elbe in 1970 at its own expense. Since 1972 the restaurant has been run by Klaus Quentin. After more than 35 years, Quentin handed over the business to his successor Benedikt Geldmacher from Othfresen , who gave it up again a short time later. The now 80 hectare farm is managed today (2019) by Godehard Fremdling, the restaurant has been in operation again since 2019.

Economy and Infrastructure

In 2003, an Enercon E66 wind power plant with an output of one megawatt was built.

Transport links

The Nauenburg is just off the national highway 6 between Baddeckenstedt in the northwest and Salzgitter-Bad in the east-southeast. In addition, a district road branches off at the inn to Söderhof, Sehlde and Ringelheim in the south and south-east.
