history
On February 7th, 1131 armies in a document from King Lothar III. first mentioned in a document. However, a separation of small and large armies can only be proven in 1255.
A noble family resided in Klein Heere until around 1200, whose roots go back to the time of the Saxon conquerors in the early Middle Ages. Several holders of church offices in the Diocese of Hildesheim came from it. Like Groß Heere, Klein Heere largely belonged to the Counts of Wohldenberg . However, in 1255 they transferred parts of their property in the village to the Ringelheim monastery and in 1258 to the Wöltingerode monastery .
Until 1523, Klein Heere belonged to the Wohldenberg office in the Hildesheim monastery. In the course of the collegiate feud from 1519 to 1523, the village came to the Principality of Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel that year before it came back to Hildesheim in 1643. The Thirty Years' War from 1618 to 1648 caused damage to Klein Heere, as in the surrounding area.
Since 1717 the younger students were taught by their own teacher for small armies. From 1815 to 1972 the place had its own school. Before that, all students attended the school in Groß Heere, later only the older ones.
church
The church in Klein Heere is the oldest building in town. A possible but not certain year of construction is due to an inscription next to the entrance in 1378. It is worth mentioning bronze altar lights from 1655 and another six-armed chandelier from the following year as well as a restored Gothic altarpiece.
Since the Reformation, Klein Heere has formed a parish community with Groß Heere.
