Nelly Pouget
Nelly Pouget (born May 19, 1955 in Dijon ) is a French saxophonist and composer of the Modern Creative .
Live and act
Pouget studied saxophone with Jean-Marie Londeix at the conservatory in her native city . She first worked with children, made instruments and spent some time in Africa. Since 1982 she has led her own bands, which only played her own compositions. She has been making records under her own name since 1991; she also toured internationally. In 1993 she founded a duo with the drummer Micheline Pelzer , which lasted until 1995. At the same time she played with Horace Tapscott and also appeared in Los Angeles . In 1995 she led an international quartet with James Lewis, Noah Rosen and Makoto Sato. In 1997 she performed in a duo with Marilyn Crispell . Then she concentrated on solo concerts. Since 2005 she has mainly emerged in interdisciplinary projects (with poets and dancers). She also wrote music for short films, but has also sought collaboration with a gamelan orchestra in Java .
