The Neptune is a passenger ship.

history

The ship was built in 1925 at the Friedrichswerft in Einswarden . In the 1970s it was rebuilt at Hupp in Eibelstadt . Under the name Max , the ship was used by the Franconian passenger shipping company.

Obviously, postcards were circulated at the time, which supposedly showed Max . In reality, it is said to have been the structurally similar sister ship Moritz .

The ship has been used as Neptune on the Main-Danube Canal since 1990 . After captain and owner Georg Popp had been ordered not to moor in Gebersdorf and Burgfarrnbach after 10 p.m., he withdrew from the greater Nuremberg / Fürth area in 2012 and moved his ship's home port to Forchheim . Trips from there to Bamberg and short trips on the Regnitz were planned .

Since the spring of 2013, however , the Neptun started out from its new berth at the Alter Kranen in Marktbreit on trips to Kitzingen and on tours. In 2018 the Neptun was sold to a boat rental company in Budapest . Before the start of the season in May 2019, the ship was renovated.
