Nes is a village in the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân in the Dutch province of Friesland . It is located about 10 kilometers north of Dokkum and has 375 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

Nes is located on the Wadden Sea and was originally a peninsula until it was diked in the 12th century . That is why the name of the village also means headland . Before the community reform , where Nes had become part of Dongeradeel , from 1984 Nes was part of Westdongeradeel. The village has been part of the Noardeast-Fryslân municipality since 2019 .
