The LSBTTIQ Baden-Württemberg network is a non-partisan association of over 140 groups, associations and initiatives from the field of civil rights and self-help organizations for lesbian , gay , bisexual, transsexual , transgender , intersexual and queer people in Baden-Württemberg .

Goals and organizational structure

In 2012 more than 40 different groups and initiatives founded the network as a non-partisan and ideologically not bound association. The start was in Stuttgart in September, the constitution as a network in Mannheim and the establishment of the network as a legal entity in Freiburg. The state network has set itself the goal of promoting cooperation between the various constituent groups at state level, advocating the right to a self-determined sexual and gender identity and representing the interests of LGBTTIQ people vis-à-vis political decision-makers in the state. Various topic groups exist within the network that develop recommendations for action, positions and draft resolutions for the plenum. The board of directors is a speaking council , which is responsible for coordinating the association and preparing the content. His term of office is one year. The network has been a member of the Baden-Württemberg State Women's Council since 2015 .

Action plan for acceptance and equal rights

The network has been a member of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs' advisory board for the development of an action plan against discrimination and prejudice since 2012 . The action plan was created under the leadership of Minister Katrin Altpeter (SPD). As a representative of the rainbow community, the network was actively involved in the advisory process and in its creation as a permanent member of the accompanying committee until the action plan was completed. On June 16, 2015, the green-red cabinet approved the proposal under the title Action Plan for Acceptance and Equal Rights . In it, the state government agreed to work with the LSBTTIQ network as a cooperation partner and defined common goals "in order to sustainably reduce discrimination and make the interests of the people concerned heard". The planned measures included, among other things, the strengthening of LGBTTIQ people with a migration background , the historical reappraisal of the persecution of homosexual people and the improvement of legal equality for transsexual, transgender and intersex people.

The action plan is criticized by the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament and by the alternative for Germany .

In 2016, the new advisory board met for the first time on November 23, under the following green-black state government. The action plan will be continued under the leadership of Minister Lucha. The advisory board is now intended to strengthen the dialogue between administration, the LGBTTIQ community and civil society. Meetings take place twice a year at different locations (ministry of state, finance, etc.). The LSBTTIQ network sends ten personally elected delegates for the current legislative period. They bring their technical expertise to the political network and especially the topics of youth, school education, counseling, transsexuality, history, work and the rainbow family, a short form is Advisory Board.

In remembrance of 50 years of "Stonewall Inn Riots", the Ministry of Social Affairs is setting the umbrella brand Action Year 2019. All ministries, civil society and the rainbow community can use events of all kinds to remember the beginning of the internationally networked emanciation movements in order to gain acceptance for lesbian, gay, bi-, Promote trans, intersex, transgender and queer people.

Other activities

With the project establishing nationwide counseling for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, intersexual and queer people , the network would like to improve the counseling offer on LGBTTIQ issues in the area. This should be achieved by the end of 2016 through stronger networking and continued qualification within the participating organizations.

In May 2016, as part of the project to promote guided coming-out groups for LGBTTIQ adolescents and young adults in Baden-Württemberg, a website with an overview of coming-out groups and youth groups was published. Seven groups were represented at the start of the project. The project is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs with funds from the Youth Future Plan.

In the public debate about the 2015 education plan for Baden-Württemberg , the network basically supports the state government's reform project, but at the same time criticizes the content as not being consistent enough.
