Neubiendorf a district of the city of Müuellen (Geiseltal) in the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt .
Geographical location
Neubiendorf is located east of Müelte in the Geiseltal on the southern edge of the Geiseltalsee . Bordering places are Müelte in the west and Krumpa in the east. The neighboring town of Eptingen to the north had to give way in the 1960s due to open-cast lignite mining.
history
Neubiendorf was founded in 1919 as a miners' settlement south of Möckerling . It got its name from the desert of Bündorf (also: Bendorf) west of Möckerling. In order to avoid confusion with the Bündorf settlement near Schkopau , the new miners' settlement was called "Neubiendorf".
In 1928 a catholic emergency church with the name " Herz-Jesu-Kirche " was built in Neubiendorf , because the mining industry had brought many workers of the Catholic faith to the Geiseltal, which had previously been evangelical.
In the course of the ongoing lignite mining in the Geiseltal , the Neubiendorf settlement was largely relocated in 1964 and dredged ( devastated ) in 1968 . The small remaining corner of the community was called the "Senftenberger Siedlung" because it was moved into by miners from Senftenberg in the 1920s . The Catholic Church has also been preserved to this day, but in 2006 it was desecrated ( profaned ) and since then by the Geiseltalsee Church e. V. Munch used. The bronze bell from 1783 was moved to the church of St. Micheln .
traffic
Neubiendorf is on the connecting road from Braunsbedra to Müelte. The Merseburg – Querfurt railway runs past the village .
