The Neue Kaisermühle is a building in Darmstadt-Eberstadt . For architectural, industrial and urban history reasons, the building is a cultural monument .
History and description
The Neue Kaisermühle is a rare industrial mill from historicism . The property consists of the mill building, the residential building, the servants' house and the barn . There is a spacious garden with a wooden pavilion on the site .
The three-and-a-half-storey industrial mill building is a heavily dimensioned wooden frame structure with a surrounding wall shell made of red clinker . The wooden skeleton is braced by eight tension anchors on each storey level. The lancet windows are made of industrial metal windows .
The mill technology with turbine in the basement is still there.
The three-storey residential building made of red clinker bricks with decorative window frames and window canopies made of yellow sandstone has a historical architectural decoration . There are cornices above the base and the first floor . In the middle of the bel étage , above the central entrance leading over four steps, there is a bulbous, wrought-iron balcony .
The wooden pavilion has a tent roof with beaver tail tiles and a roof turret made of zinc sheet .
