history

The synagogue was built according to the plans of the royal building conductor Marggraf in the classical style. The inauguration took place on September 19, 1827. After the renovation in the 1840s, the synagogue had 60 places for men and 35 or 46 places for women.

In the days after the November pogrom of 1938 , the synagogue was stormed and devastated by men from the Reich Labor Service . In the following days the building was torn down by the Reich Labor Service. The interior decoration, the Torah scrolls and other cult objects were burned in the market square.

Only a few remains of the wall have been preserved on the synagogue site. Today there is a garden and a garage on the property.

An extension of the neighboring house was built over the former mikveh .
