After the membership of the Jewish community in Kirrweiler fell sharply at the beginning of the 20th century, the Jewish community was dissolved in 1916 and the property with synagogue and Jewish school was sold in 1917.

The quarry stone building with arched windows was now used as a storage room and carpenter's workshop. In 1986 an apartment was set up in the synagogue building.
