Etymology and history

The origin of the name is currently unclear. The place is marked on the Prussian first recording from 1843 as a new Triebel . The place bears the name Triebel on the measuring table .

In the 19th century, Neuer and Alter Triebel belonged to the Kleine Höhe farmers' group of the Hardenberg mayor , which was renamed Neviges in 1935 . From 1816 to 1861 it belonged to the Elberfeld district and from 1861 to the old Mettmann district .

Landesstraße 427 was built as a road in the 1830s . Up until that time, the old road from Elberfeld to Neviges ran a little north of today's state road 427 through Triebel. Today's street Neuer Triebel runs from Metzmachersrath to the old settlement center of Neuer Triebel for a part on its route. It opened on July 4, 1977.

In 1888, eight residents lived in one house in Triebel. The place is called Triebel at that time .

Due to the regional reform of North Rhine-Westphalia , Neviges came to the city of Velbert at the beginning of 1975 and the eastern suburbs of Neviges around Triebel were incorporated into Wuppertal.
