Neuhof is an eastern part of the Upper Franconian town of Coburg . The place went on in 1867 in the municipality of Neuhof and Neershof .

geography

The former manor is located in the valley of the Krebsbach . Communal roads lead from Neuhof to Waldsachsen , Rögen and Neershof . Originally there was a large number of ponds in the Neuhof corridor, aided by valleys and many springs, which were mostly used for fish farming. The ponds were gradually abandoned until the middle of the 19th century, with the exception of the mill pond, which was leased from the Coburg fishing association from 1956. The association also created two more ponds in the castle grounds in 1969.

history

Neuhof was first mentioned in a document in 1371 in the land register of the Langheim monastery , when Dithericus de Koburg pledged the tithe of Newenhoff to the monastery. Presumably the estate was a new establishment of the Neselstorfer, who already had an estate in Neershof . The next mention of the place followed in 1487 in a feudal letter for Jacob and Eucharius von Bach. Until 1528 Neuhof belonged to the Fechheimer Kirchsprengel, then to the Evangelical parish in Einberg, 2.9 kilometers away .

The further history of the manor is closely linked to Neuhof Castle .

In the Neuhof estate, there was a mill to the north of the mill pond, which was first recorded in 1583. In 1853 the owner of the manor set up a clay pipe factory in the mill, which was in operation for a few years. In 1865 the meal rights were no longer exercised. In 1888 the mill building burned down and was not rebuilt. At the same time as the clay pipe factory, a brick factory was built west of the mill pond, which ceased operations again in 1857.

In 1782 Neuhof had 41 inhabitants. In 1837 62 people lived in the place.

In 1853 the Neuhof manor district consisted of the manor with the castle and the farm buildings, two workers' houses and the mill. The owner of the manor had a summer house built on the Goldberg in the mid-1855s. A domain nursery with a gardener's house was established around 1900. There was a lime kiln with a quarry in the mid-1850s on the southern edge of the Goldberg. A hundred years later, a stone quarry was built there for the extraction of gravel, which was used as a bulky waste dump from 1965.

In 1867 Neuhof was combined with Neersdorf to form the political municipality of Neu- und Neershof with 104 inhabitants. The two places had a common mayor before .

In 1925 Neuhof had an area of 151.502 hectares on which 31 people lived in 4 residential buildings. In 1970, 69 people lived in Neuhof.

On July 1, 1976, Neuhof and Neershof were incorporated into Coburg with 251 hectares of community space and 212 inhabitants. Since 1979 the Protestant residents belong to the Seidmannsdorf church district .
