Neuratjensdorf

The village of Neuratjensdorf lies between Heiligenhafen and Oldenburg / Holstein . It belongs to the municipality of Gremersdorf .

Name meaning

Neuratjensdorf was called "Ratekestorpe" in the Middle Ages (1325). This is an old Wendish name and means village of Rateke (Slav. PN) Later it was called Rathjensdorf. In 1885 the part "New" was added to differentiate it from the place with the same name near Grube .

history

In the Middle Ages the village had 17 hooves . In the 14th century, 15 hooves (2 hooves were in aristocratic possession) were transferred to the Eutin collegiate monastery by the Lübeck citizen Nikolaus Mornewech as a donation for the establishment of two vicarages and thus belonged to the Diocese of Lübeck, after the Reformation the Prince Diocese of Lübeck. After the secularization in 1803 the village belonged to the Amt Kollegiatstift in the Principality of Lübeck. On January 1, 1843, it fell to the Duchy of Holstein through the Treaty of Plön and belonged to the Office of Cismar . Since April 1, 1937, it has belonged to the municipality of Gremersdorf.
