The Nevado Ticlla , also Qutuni , Cotoni or Cutuni , is located in the Cordillera Central , a section of the Peruvian Western Cordillera .
The 5897 m high Nevado Ticlla is located in the Cordillera de Yauyos massif , 115 km east-southeast of the capital Lima . At the foot of the glaciated mountain range lie the lakes Laguna Ticllacocha and Lago Huascacocha , which are drained to the Pacific Ocean via the Río Cañete and Río Mala .
The Nevado Ticlla lies on the edge of the reserve Reserva paisajística Nor Yauyos-Cochas . It is located in the Yauyos Province , which is part of the Lima administrative region. The dominance of the Nevado Ticlla is 238 km. At this distance lies the north-northwestern Nevado Carnicero in the Cordillera Huayhuash . The notch height is 1266 m. The neighboring mountain Llongote (5781 m) rises about 7.7 km to the south .
The first ascent of Nevado Ticlla took place in June 1963 by a Spanish expedition.
