New Blood is an Australian brutal death metal and deathgrind band from Wollongong that was formed in 2005.

history

The band was formed in 2005. Various demos followed as well as the first local appearances. After Grindhead Records became aware of the band, another demo was recorded in 2007. Then Brendan Caulfield came as the new drummer to replace Adam Zivkovic. In 2008 the EP Paradise Disintegrates was released , which contains seven songs and on which Zivkovic can be heard. Then Ryan Caulfield came on as a second guitarist, while Guy McKinnon played bass. The debut album Subsistence was released in July 2012 . The line-up consists of guitarist Shannon Zivkovic, singer Craig “Stampy” Stemp, drummer Luka Grgurevic and keyboardist Brendan Caulfield. The following year she performed in Australia with Thy Art Is Murder , Cattle Decapitation , Psycroptic , King Parrot , Nile and The Faceless .

style

Brian Giffin describes the band's music in his Encyclopedia of Australian Heavy Metal as a mixture of death metal and grindcore . Scott Adams from metalasfuck.net was particularly enthusiastic in his review of Subsistence for the short playing time of 25 minutes in which the band was able to accommodate all ideas, and drew a comparison to Slayer's Reign in Blood . The group play brutal, technically demanding and modern Death Metal with influences from Death , Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation . Sarjoo Devani from explicitlyintense.com assigned the group to Brutal Death Metal. The singing is deep and aggressive. The lyrics shouldn't be taken seriously as they would reflect bloody, twisted fantasies that may have been gleaned from horror literature . He recommended the music to fans of Pathology , Cattle Decapitation , Suffocation, and Aborted Fetus .
