Ng On Yee (born November 17, 1990 in Hong Kong ) is a Chinese snooker player from Hong Kong.

Career

Success in the amateur field

Ng On Yee won the 2009 Women's Amateur World Championship 5-1 against Kathy Parashis from Australia. The following year, she defended her title with a 5-0 white wash against her compatriot Jaique Ip Wan In. In 2012 she lost 5-1 to Wendy Jans in the final . In 2014 she took part in the Dongguan Open 2014 - the fourth and last event of the Asian Toru 2013/14 - and lost in the first round 1: 4 to Chen Ruifu , who was eliminated one round later against the eventual winner Stuart Bingham .

Breakthrough in women's snooker

In 2015 she lost 6-0 to Reanne Evans in the final of the women's snooker world championship, winning her 10th title in a row. Just a year later, Ng On Yee was back in the World Cup final, this time against Emma Bonney. She won 6-2. Before that, she took part in the Haining Open 2015 - the only event of the Asian Toru 2015/16 , where she lost 4-3 to Ding Kai in the first pre-qualifying round. At the World Snooker Championship she lost 1:10 against Peter Lines in the first round . Shortly thereafter, she took part in the Q School 2016: In the first event she lost in the round of 32 to Daniel Womersley, in the second event in the round of 64 to John Astley . On August 28, 2016, she won the final of the “Paul Hunter Ladies Classic 2016” against Reanne Evans in the Fürth town hall , with 4: 1 and received prize money of 3,200 euros and the trophy.

In 2016/17 she also took part in the "UK Ladies Championship", where she failed in the semi-finals against Reanne Evans. At the "Womens Masters" she lost to Jaique Ip Wan In. In the same year she lost in the final of the Women's World Cup with 4th & against Reanne Evans. Nevertheless, she was able to take part in the World Cup qualification of the professionals , where she was eliminated in round 1 1:10 against Nigel Bond . At the Women's World Cup she was able to defeat Reanne Evans in the semifinals 5-4, so that she was in the final for the fourth time in a row. There she defeated the Indian Vidya Pillai 6: 5. This gave her the right to start qualifying for the 2017 Snooker World Championship , where she lost 1:10 to Nigel Bond in the first round.

In April 2017 she won the “Women's Six Red World Championship” and the “Women's Ten Red World Championship”. Shortly thereafter, she attended Q School 2017. In the first event she moved into the round of 32, where she failed to Ma Tingpeng, in the second she lost in round 1 to Jeff Cundy . In July, Ng On Yee took part in the World Games , where she failed in the first round to Michael Judge . Less than a month later, she lost her title at the "Paul Hunter Womens Classic" when she failed 4-1 in the final against Reanne Evans. Soon afterwards she won the "Women's UK Championship" and the "Women's Masters" in the final against Evans. At the "Women's British Open" she lost in the semifinals against Nutcharut Wongharuthai in the semifinals. On March 17, 2018, she was able to become women's world champion for the third time when she defeated Maria Catalano 5-0 in the final. In qualifying for the 2018 World Snooker Championship , she lost again 1:10 in the first round, this time against Matthew Selt . Only a few days she lost her world title in 10-red snooker and 6-red snooker to Reanne Evans.

For the third time in a row, Ng On Yee took part in the Q School in 2018, where she only advanced to the third round once. In August she took part in the Paul Hunter Classic for the first time , where she failed after qualifying in the first main round to Lukas Kleckers . She received a wildcard for the fourth, fifth and sixth event of the Challenge Tour 2018/19 , all times she lost in the first round. In between, she won the UK Women's Championship. On October 28, she defeated Katrina Wang in the final of the Australian Women's Snooker Open.
