Niccolò Fabi (born May 16, 1968 in Rome ) is an Italian cantautore .

Career

Fabi was born in Rome as the son of the musician and producer Claudio Fabi and made his debut with Dica in 1996 . At the Sanremo Festival in 1997 , he entered the newcomer category with Capelli and was able to secure the critics' award . He then released his first album Il giardiniere . In 1998 he returned to Sanremo with Lasciarsi un giorno a Roma , this time in the main category, and released the self-titled second album, on which he collaborated with Frankie Hi-NRG mc , Riccardo and Daniele Sinigallia , Cecilia Dazzi and Max Gazzè . The duet with Gazzè, Vento d'estate , became a radio hit.

In 2000 Fabi released the third album Sereno ad ovest and played as the opening act of Sting in Italy. In 2003 the fourth album La cura del tempo was released . After collaborations with Lucio Dalla and Edoardo Bennato , the musician released the album Novo Mesto in 2006 and, on the occasion of his ten-year career, the first compilation Dischi volanti 1996-2006 . The first album on Universal followed in 2009 Solo un uomo . In 2010 Fabi had to interrupt the tour due to the death of his daughter who was not yet two years old; In honor of this he later organized the benefit concert Parole di Lulù , in which u. a. Daniele Silvestri , Max Gazzè, Elisa , Fiorella Mannoia and Simone Cristicchi took part.

In 2011 Fabi wrote the song Lontano da tutto for Serena Abrami , with which she came fourth in the newcomer category of the Sanremo Festival 2011 . He also wrote Nel primo sguardo for Laura Pausini . For his song Costruire he was awarded the Premio Lunezia in 2012, in autumn of that year he released the next album Ecco , which was awarded the Targa Tenco album of the year. In 2013 he took part in a trip to South Sudan with Daniele Silvestri and Max Gazzè with the aid organization Medici con l'Africa CUAMM , from which a joint music project developed: In 2014, the joint album La festa del padrone was released , the first for all three musicians Became number one album of their careers.

After a long tour with Fabi Silvestri Gazzè , Fabi returned in 2016 with the solo album Una somma di piccole cose , which also topped the charts . On the occasion of the twenty-year career, the compilation Diventi inventi 1997-2017 followed in 2017 .
