Nico Burchert (born June 24, 1987 in East Berlin ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper . He is currently under contract as a goalkeeping coach at SC Paderborn 07 .

Career

The older brother of the Fürth goalkeeper Sascha Burchert moved from Hertha BSC's second team to SC Paderborn 07 in 2008 and made it into the professional squad there. In the 2008/09 season of the 3rd division he was the third goalkeeper behind Kasper Jensen and Sebastian Lange . On the third last game day he came to his first professional use; Despite the 2-0 defeat against the second team from Werder Bremen , the Paderborn rose to the 2nd Bundesliga. Burchert stayed with Paderborn substitute keeper in the following years: In the 2009/10 season, for example, there was an even bigger competition in goal because Daniel Masuch was signed. In the 2013/14 season, Burchert was Paderborn's third goalkeeper behind Lukas Kruse and Daniel Lück . For the 2014/15 season Paderborn rose to the 1st Bundesliga; Burchert is now only the fourth goalkeeper behind Lukas Kruse, Daniel Lück and Alexander Nübel . After SC Paderborn was relegated to the Bundesliga at the end of the 2014/2015 season, Burchert was promoted from substitute keeper to goalkeeping coach.
