Nico Toff (born December 1, 1988 in Klagenfurt ) is a former Austrian ice hockey player who was under contract with EC Villacher SV between 2002 and 2012 . During his career he played 264 games in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga .

Career

Toff began his career at EC KAC , but switched to local rivals EC VSV at the age of 14 . There he made his Bundesliga debut at the age of 17 and was able to establish himself in the men's team. He was also in the Bundesliga squad for the first time in the last championship season of the VSV (2005/06), but only made two appearances. He was instrumental in ensuring that the VSV U20 team won the Austrian Youth Championship twice in a row. With the men's team of the EC VSV, he could only reach the quarter-finals of the playoffs in the seasons 2007 to 2010 and scored a total of 37 points scorer. Due to numerous injuries, he had to take longer breaks from playing during these years. In the 2010/2011 season, Toff scored two goals alongside Roland Kaspitz in the decisive playoff quarter-final game against Black Wings Linz and helped the EC VSV to reach the EBEL semi-finals again after four years . In the semi-finals, the team was eliminated against local rivals EC KAC. After he lost his regular place in the first division team of the Carinthians in the season 2011/12 and was sometimes only used in the second team, he was committed to the playoffs of the national league team ATSE Graz , with which he reached the playoff final, which was played against the HC Innsbruck was lost. After the 2012 season, Toff announced the end of his career in order to work in the police service in the future. He then worked for the Tiroler SV Silz from 2012 to 2014 and for the fourth-class EV Krems from 2015 to 2017.

International

In the junior division, Toff played with the Austrian U18 team at the 2005 and 2006 World Championships in Division I. He was with the Alpine Country U20 team at the 2008 World Championships , when he was the best assists at the tournament with nine assists, and also in 2009 Division I.

Toff made his debut on April 8, 2009 in the 1-3 defeat in the friendly against Russia in Innsbruck in the Austrian national team . In the same year he was nominated for the Polesie Cup in Belarus , where the national team took third place. By 2012 he was nominated for a total of 7 international matches and scored 3 scorer points.
