Nicolae Titulescu

Nicolae Titulescu (born March 4, 1882 in Craiova , † March 17, 1941 in Cannes ) was a Romanian diplomat, at various times finance minister and foreign minister , also for two terms President of the General Assembly of the League of Nations (1930-1932).

Life

Nicolae Titulescu was born in Craiova, the son of a lawyer. He spent his childhood on his father's estate in Tituleşti , Olt County . After graduating with honors from the Carol I School in Craiova in 1900 , he studied law in Paris and received his doctorate with the dissertation Essai sur une théorie des droits éventuels .

In 1905 Titulescu returned to Romania as a professor of law at the University of Iași . In 1907 he moved to Bucharest .
