Nicolaus Jacob Carl Müller

Nicolaus Jacob Carl Müller (born July 12, 1842 in Wiesbaden ; † January 12, 1901 in Münden ) was a German botanist . In his scientific publications he mostly used the name NJC Müller as an author . Its botanical author abbreviation is " NJCMuell. "

Life

Nicolaus Jacob Carl Müller attended a private school up to the age of 15, trained as a pharmacist and began studying natural sciences at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg at Easter 1864 .

On February 9, 1866 he was in Heidelberg with insigni cum laude for Dr. phil. PhD . In the summer of 1866 he acquired the venia legendi for the entire field of botany and then worked as a private lecturer in Heidelberg until the end of the summer semester of 1872.

At the end of the summer semester of 1872, Müller accepted the position of professor for forest botany at the Royal Forest Academy in Münden. Müller worked from 1872 until the end of his life in teaching and as director of the forest botanical garden in Minden.

On January 13, 1892 Nicolaus Jacob Carl Müller was elected member ( matriculation no. 2941 ) of the Leopoldina .

Most recently he was a secret councilor.
