Nicole Resch (born September 25, 1975 in Neuhaus am Rennweg ) is a German lawyer and general secretary of the International Biathlon Union (IBU).

Resch started cross-country skiing at the age of eight and switched to biathlon at the age of twelve , where she was trained by Manfred Geyer . She ended her athletic career early and studied law at the University of Würzburg . After the second state examination , she completed a graduate program focused on the Olympic sports in the field of sports management and sports law .

In 2007 she started working at IBU - initially as an assistant to the then Secretary General Michael Geistlinger . After his departure, she became his provisional successor as head of the IBU office. Since November 2008 she has been the official General Secretary of the Biathlon World Federation.

In the doping affair of the Russian biathletes before the 2009 Biathlon World Championships , she represented the association to the public.

In a raid on April 10, 2018, the Federal Criminal Police Office searched the IBU's business premises in Salzburg. According to the World Anti-Doping Agency, the raid is related to doping. This also made it clear that Resch "practically had sole control over the doping administration program in the association and denied access to other IBU employees." The investigation is particularly directed against Resch and the President of the IBU, Anders Besseberg . As a result, Resch was suspended by the IBU on April 12 for the duration of the ongoing investigations.
