history
The first settlers settled in Niederseiffenbach around 1647. On June 25, 1667, with the founding deed for Nieder- and Oberseiffenbach, the place was first mentioned as Niederseyffenbach . Ecclesiastically the place belonged to the parish Neuhausen, from 1815 to the newly formed parish Seiffen.
Separated by the village stream, the place consisted of an electoral, later royal, and a stately Purschensteiner part. In 1703 the place became an independent municipality.
August Schumann describes Nieder- and Oberseiffenbach together in the State Lexicon of Saxony in 1820. Concerning the branches of business he mentions u. a .:
- "The food branches of the inhabitants are [...] wood turning (especially useful tools, capstans, cart racks, etc.) and sponge making [...] along with forest work, lace making and flax spinning . Some of the local woodturners have turned their lathe on the water. "
In 1840 a school was built, in 1892 it was replaced by a new building. A parenting hall was also inaugurated in 1892 . Petrol stations were built in the village as early as 1920 and 1927.
On October 1, 1895, the place with the station of the same name received a railway connection to the Flöhatalbahn , on May 15, 1939 the name was changed to "Heidersdorf (Erzgeb)". On June 10, 2001, passenger traffic on the Olbernhau-Grünthal-Neuhausen section was discontinued.
On April 1, 1939, the community of Niederseiffenbach was dissolved. Niederseiffenbach with Lässigherd was reclassified to Heidersdorf, Wettinhöhe and Seiffen-Grund to Seiffen, and Hirschberg with Niederlochmühle to Oberneuschönberg .
