Niklas-Wilson Sommer (born April 2, 1998 in Dessau ) is a German football player .

Career

Sommer came to 1. FC Nürnberg in 2007 and played through the club's youth teams in the following years , with the U17, Sommer became German futsal champion in 2015 as team captain, and in 2013 he played four international matches for the German U-16 team . In the summer of 2017, he moved to the second team of VfB Stuttgart in the Regionalliga Südwest , where he mostly played the full-back position in 34 of the 36 league games during the 2017/18 season . After publicly expressing his wish to move in the summer of 2018, as he saw no chance of appearing in Stuttgart's first team in the face of rivals Benjamin Pavard , Pablo Maffeo and Andreas Beck , he remained without a competitive appearance in the first half of the 2018/19 season.

In mid-December 2018, he signed a contract valid from January 1, 2019 with the relegation-threatened third division club SG Sonnenhof Großaspach , but was only used sporadically in the second half of the season behind the two regular right- backs Yannick Thermann and Patrick Choroba . In the 2019/20 season he was used more regularly, increasingly also in the right midfield. After the team's relegation, he left the club again in summer 2020.
