Nilkantha ( Nepali निलकण्ठ Nilkantha ) is a city in Nepal in the Dhading district between Kathmandu and Pokhara .
Nilkantha lies on the Thopal Khola River , a right tributary of the Trishuli . The city (municipality) was created in 2014 by amalgamating the Village Development Committees Nilkantha (with Dhading Besi ), Sunaulabazar , Murali Bhanjyang and Sangkosh . The district administration of Dhading is located in Dhading Besi , a district of Nilkantha. The urban area covers 107.24 km².

At the 2011 census, the VDCs from which the city of Nilkantha emerged had 39,578 inhabitants (18,111 of them male) in 9,702 households.
