Course of the Nimelen (Нимелен) in the catchment area of the Amgun |
The Nimelen ( Russian Нимелен ) is a left tributary of the Amgun in the Khabarovsk region in the Far East Federal District of Russia .
The Nimelen arises at the confluence of the Mata (left, 20 km) and Seiamni-Makit (right, 24 km) on the eastern flank of the Jam-Alin mountain range , about 200 km west of the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk . It initially flows through the mountains in a south-easterly direction, later it turns to the east and north-east. The Tugur, which flows directly to the Sea of Okhotsk, flows at one point just 5 km north of the Nimelen. The Nimelen then curves to the south. In the lower reaches it forms a multitude of narrow river loops . The Omal flows into the Nimelen from the left, later the Upagda from the right. The largest tributary, the Kerbi , meets the river from the right 18 km above the mouth of the Nimelen. Finally, the Nimelen meets the Amgun, 5 km northeast of the Rajon administrative center Selo imeni Poliny Ossipenko , which flows into the lower Amur .
The Nimelen has a length of 311 km. It drains an area of 14,100 km². The river is mainly fed by rainfall . It usually has floods between May and September . The mean discharge 41 km above the mouth is 118 m³ / s.
