action
Raku Ichijo ( 一条 楽 ) is the only son of the leader of a Yakuza clan. But instead of going to the yakuza, he later wants to study and become a civil servant. His family is therefore a bit of a nuisance to him - the gang members often prevent Raku from making friends or from going out with a girl. Only a few classmates are closer to him, including the friendly and reserved Kosaki Onodera ( 小 野寺 小 咲 ), with whom he fell in love. With him, Raku always carries a pendant with a lock that he got from his girlfriend at the time ten years earlier. Before they separated, they promised to get married. She kept the key to the lock with her. Even if he can hardly remember back then, he holds the trailer in honor.
One day when a new student comes into class, Raku quickly gets into constant arguments with her. The quick-tempered Chitoge Kirisaki ( 桐 崎 千 棘 ) comes from abroad and has moved to the city with her family. After the clan of Raku's father gets more and more into conflict with another clan, Raku is said to have a relationship with the daughter of the other mafia clan. This turns out to be the unloved Chitoge.
Later there are other girls who fall in love with Raku, such as Chitoge's girlfriend and bodyguard Seishirō Tsugumi ( 鶫 誠 士 郎 ), the daughter of the police chief and Raku's fiancée Marika Tachibana ( 橘 万里 花 ), Kosaki's younger sister Haru Onodera ( 小 野寺 春 ) and the leader of a triad gang Yui Kanakura. In addition, the situation is further complicated by the fact that several of the girls have a possible key for Raku's followers.
