The Niwschera ( Russian Ни́вшера ) is a left tributary of the Wischera in the catchment area of the Wytschegda in the Komi Republic in northwestern Russia .
The Niwschera rises on the Otschparma ridge in the Timan ridge . It flows through the Kortkeros Rajon in a predominantly southern direction. In the lower reaches it turns to the west and finally flows into the Wischera. It has a length of 215 km. Its catchment area covers 4250 km². The mean discharge 25 km above the mouth is 45 m³ / s. The Niwschera is mainly fed by the snowmelt . The river floods in May . The river is ice-covered between the beginning of November and the beginning. The Niwschera is navigable over a distance of 55 km to the town of Niwschera at the confluence of the Lymwa .
