The Nogaysky District ( Russian Ногайский район ; Nogai район Ногай ; abasinisch район НагІвай ; Kabardian Нэгъуей район, куей Нэгъуей ; Karachay-Balkar Ногъай район ; translated "Nogay Rayon ') is a Rajon of Karachay-Cherkessia in the south-western part of Russia on the northern slope of Caucasus .

The administrative center is the settlement (possjolok) Erken-Shachar, located around 20 km northwest of the republic capital Cherkessk not far from the border with the Stavropol region . The Kuban flows along the north-eastern border of the Rajon , through the Rajon its left tributary Little Selentschuk (Maly Selentschuk).

The Rajon, founded on October 12, 2007, is the settlement area of ​​the Nogaier , who give it its name and make up 76.72% of the population. Ethnic Russians make up 12.45% of the population (2010). Abasins , Karachay and Circassians also live in the Rajon .

The Rajon includes five rural communities (selskoje posselenije) . The largest auditorium next to the district center Erken-Schachar is Ikon-Chalk with 4353 inhabitants (2010).
