history
Noom Records was founded in Neckargemünd in July 1993 as an independent label of the Under Cover Music Group (UCMG), whose managing director Joachim Keil operated other well-known techno labels with Time Unlimited and Plastic City . At that time, the publications were distributed through MMS Euro & Intergroove. In addition to Keil, A&R manager Tom Weyer was responsible for the musical design of the label, which was already known as a DJ under the name of Commander Tom and which was to have its international breakthrough through its numerous releases on Noom Records . Right from the start, musicians and producers such as Mark NRG (Overdrive Records) , Ramin ( R&S , Harthouse ) , Oliver Lieb (Harthouse , Superstition) , Raymund Boyé (Suck Me Plasma , R&S) and DJ Tandu appeared on the scene. The label defined and established itself through an independent and homogeneous style within the techno scene.
When the Under Cover Music Group filed for bankruptcy in the summer of 2003, parts of the group went to Holophon (formerly Mole Music GmbH ), but the purchase was reversed. The rights were held by Daredo from Mannheim between July 2004 and October 2017 . In November 2017, Joachim Keil's company, UCM.ONE GmbH from Berlin, bought the rights. As a result, the label is back in the hands of Joachim Keil after more than 15 years.
