Norbert Aas (born October 18, 1950 ) is a German high school teacher, ethnologist and historian specializing in the social history of the 20th century. In his research he deals in particular with the "central euthanasia ", the Sinti and Roma and the Bayreuth Evangelical Church during the Third Reich .

In 1980 Aas became a member of the Greens when the NATO double decision alienated him from the SPD . The author of several publications on urban history lives in Bayreuth. His brother is the forest scientist and director of the ecological-botanical garden of the University of Bayreuth Gregor Aas .

Aas is involved in the preservation of monuments and the preservation of old buildings. His focus is on social history and the fate of fellow Jewish citizens. At irregular intervals he invites you to thematic city tours in Bayreuth. On October 26, 2016, he moved in for Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen as a successor in the Bayreuth city ​​council and was confirmed as the oldest council member in this office with 7,311 votes in the local elections in 2020 .
