Norbert Pallua

Norbert Pallua (born January 21, 1952 in Bruneck , South Tyrol ) was Director of the Clinic for Plastic Surgery, Hand and Burn Surgery at the University Hospital Aachen until July 31, 2017, and holder of a W3 professorship for plastic surgery , hand and burn surgery .

After graduating from school in 1971 in Bruneck, Pallua studied medicine in Innsbruck and Vienna from 1971 to 1979 with an 18-month break due to military service in the Italian army . His clinical training took place from 1980 to 1989 at the Rudolf Virchow Hospital in Berlin with further training as a specialist in surgery and then from 1989 at the Hanover Medical School (MHH), which was formally completed in 1992 with the recognition of the specialty of plastic surgery . During his further training in Berlin , he obtained his doctorate in 1988 with the dissertation Risk and prognosis of aortocoronary venous bypass surgery in seventy-year-old patients at the Free University .
