Norberto Barba (born September 12, 1963 in New York ) is an American director and cameraman . He is mostly known for his work on Criminal Intent and CSI: Miami .

Barba is from the Bronx , New York City. He graduated from Regis High School in New York. He also spent two years at Columbia University and later went to the USC School of Cinema-Television . After graduating, he became a director at the American Film Institute , where he received his postgraduate degree in film production .

Norberto Barba's directorial debut was in 1992, the film was called Chavez Ravine , and tells the story of a father and son in the 1950s who are building a stadium. He later directed Blue Tiger (1994) and Solo (1996) before specializing in producing / directing TV shows.

He worked on the TV series New York Undercover , Level 9 , CSI: Miami , Resurrection Blvd. , Criminal Intent - Crime Targeted , American Dreams , Numbers - The Logic Of Crime , CSI: NY , Blade - The Hunt Goes On , Fringe - Borderline Cases of the FBI , Criminal Intent - Crime Targeted, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , Nemesis - The attack , Kojak , Medical Investigation , Grimm but also on a television film, Apollo 11 .

Norberto Barba was also nominated three times for the ALMA Awards and served in a United States Army Psychological Operations Unit .
