The NordArt is an art exhibition of international contemporary art and a non-profit cultural initiative of the international ACO group and the cities Büdelsdorf and Rendsburg . It has taken place every summer since 1999 in Büdelsdorf in Schleswig-Holstein . On the site of a former iron foundry , the Carlshütte , works by contemporary artists are exhibited on 22,000 m² of indoor space. A park of another 60,000 m² offers outdoor objects a suitable environment. 1400 artists from 81 countries applied for the exhibition, which was held for the 12th time in 2010, of which 245 from 55 countries showed their works from June 12th to October 3rd, 2010. In 2011 250 artists from 55 countries showed their works.

NordArt 2020 from June 6th to October 11th 2020 has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

NordArt Prize

Since 2010, one artist has been awarded the NordArt Prize every year. It is endowed with 10,000 euros and has also been donated by the entrepreneurial couple Johanna and Hans-Julius Ahlmann since 2010. Its aim is to enliven the art and culture scene.

NordArt audience award

All visitors to NordArt can vote for an artist. The audience award chosen in this way is awarded each September. It is endowed with 1,000 euros each for the top three winners, and the award-winning artists are invited to participate in the upcoming NordArt in the following year.
