Norfried Pohl

Norfried Pohl (* 1943 in Berlin ) is a German-Dutch landscape architect ; one of his works was the planning of the Niddapark and the Federal Garden Show in 1989 in Frankfurt am Main .

Live and act

Norfried Pohl completed his studies in landscape architecture in Berlin with a degree in engineering and set up his own office in Berlin. At the same time, he was a lecturer at the Technical University of Berlin at the Chair of Landscaping and Garden Art from 1971 to 1976 .

In 1981 he took part in the nationwide invitation to tender for the Nidda-Aue ideas competition for the design of the approx. 168 hectare site of today's Niddapark in Frankfurt am Main, as well as the 1989 Federal Garden Show that was temporarily connected to it . For his designs, Pohl received 1st prize and thus the contract for the planning and construction of the park and the Federal Garden Show. His plans were carried out in collaboration with the Sulzbach landscape architect Werner Kappes.

Pohl later moved to the Netherlands , received his doctorate at the Technical University of Delft in 1995 and founded an office for landscape architecture in Wageningen . In addition, he was a lecturer at Landbouwuniversiteit Wageningen (today Wageningen University and Research Center ), where he taught and researched.

Pohl lives in the Netherlands and is now active in the field of computer art .
