Normand Dupont (born February 5, 1957 in Montreal , Québec ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player (left winger) who played for the Canadiens de Montréal , Winnipeg Jets and Hartford Whalers in the National Hockey League , as well as for EHC Biel and from 1979 to 1993 HC Ajoie in the Swiss National League A played.

Career

As a junior he played in his hometown with the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge de Montréal and the Junior de Montréal in the LHJMQ. In the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft , the Canadiens de Montréal took him in the first round as 18th . He was also drafted in the World Hockey Association . Here in the fourth round as 31st, the Birmingham Bulls secured the rights to him.

Initially he played on the Canadiens farm team with the Nova Scotia Voyageurs in the AHL . He made his NHL debut in Montreal in the 1979/80 season . This was followed by three years with the Winnipeg Jets with a short detour to the AHL farm team, the Sherbrooke Jets . His last season in the NHL he played 1983/84 with the Hartford Whalers . Here too he had to go to the Binghamton Whalers in the AHL .

In 1984 he moved to Switzerland and played for EHC Biel and from 1991 for HC Ajoie in the NLA .
