The 2nd North American Soccer League season began on April 9, 2012 with the start of the regular season and ends on October 29 with the second leg of the play-off finals.

Competition format

The format remains unchanged compared to the premiere season.

The second season starts with eight teams. These only play out the regular season, which has a uniform table structure. In total, each team plays 28 games, which are divided into home and away games. One team meets the other team four times. The winner of the regular season receives the Woosnam Cup.

The top six teams qualify for play-offs, with the top two teams qualifying directly for the semi-finals. The remaining four play off the other two semi-finalists. The semi-finals and the final will be played in two games.
