The North American Soccer League 2016 was the sixth season of the North American Soccer League . It began in spring 2016 with the first game day of the spring season and continued in autumn with the fall season and the final game for the championship, the so-called soccer bowl.
Competition format
The format of the competition is unchanged compared to the previous year. However, after the departure of the San Antonio Scorpions and the Atlanta Silverbacks , three new members were added - Miami FC and Rayo OKC , as well as Puerto Rico FC , which will start participating in the fall season . The 11 or 12 participants play two separate competitions in one year ( Spring Season and Fall Season ). In the spring season each team plays once against each other, in the fall season twice. The two winners and the two best other teams in total qualify for the playoffs.
