The 2014 North American Soccer League was the fourth North American Soccer League season. It began on April 13, 2014 with the first game day of the Spring Season and ended on November 15, 2014 with the final game for the championship, the so-called Soccer Bowl.
The San Antonio Scorpions won this one . The Minnesota United won the Spring Season. The San Antonio Crew the Fall Season. Best team of the regular season, spring and fall season combined, was Minnesota United.
Competition format
The format of the competition has changed compared to the first three seasons. On July 26, 2013, the NASL approved a competition reform for the 2014 season by a large majority. The 10 participants play two separate competitions in one year. ( Spring Season and Fall Season ) In the Spring Season each team plays once against each other, in the Fall Season twice. The two winners and the best two best other teams in total qualify for the playoffs.
