The North American Soccer League 2017 is the fifth season of the North American Soccer League . It began on March 25, 2017 with the first day of the spring season and ended on November 12 with the final game of the play-offs, the so-called Soccer Bowl.
The regular season is divided into two parts. The Spring Season, which took place in the first half of 2017, was won by Miami FC . The subsequent fall season was also concluded with Miami FC as first in the table. In the subsequent play-offs, the best four teams of both seasons met each other. Here the San Francisco Deltas defeated New York Cosmos in the final.
Changes compared to 2016
- The San Francisco Deltas are added as a new franchise.
- Minnesota United has left the league for Major League Soccer .
- The Tampa Bay Rowdies and Ottawa Fury move to the United Soccer League .
- The Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Rayo OKC have left the league indefinitely.
- The Carolina RailHawks was renamed North Carolina FC .
