Yohandry José Orozco Cujia (born March 19, 1991 in Maracaibo ) is a Venezuelan football player who plays for Deportes Tolima . He is used as an attacking midfielder.

Club career

In his youth he first played in his hometown for local clubs such as Berasaca and Centro Gallego. He made his professional football debut at the age of 16 in 2007 for UA Maracaibo in the first Venezuelan football league . For the 2009/10 season he moved within the league to Zulia FC , where he quickly became a regular. With this (and through very appealing performances in the national team) VfL Wolfsburg noticed him and signed him in January 2011. Orozco signed a contract until June 30, 2015. After Juan Arango and Tomás Rincón he was the third Bundesliga player from Venezuela . In the second half of the 2010/11 season, in which VfL was about to stay in the league, he was not yet used. He made his Bundesliga debut on October 15, 2011, when he was in the starting line-up against 1. FC Nürnberg . On March 15, 2012, Orozco managed his only goal participation for Vfl when he prepared the equalizer by Ivica Olić in the 1-1 draw against Fortuna Düsseldorf . Overall, Orozco only played seven league games for Vfl Wolfsburg in two and a half seasons.

After Orozco could not prevail in Wolfsburg, he moved back to his home country for the 2013/14 season to the Deportivo Táchira Fútbol Club . At Deportivo Táchira Orozco was again a regular and completed 68 games in two seasons, in which he scored a total of 15 goals. In 2015 he and his team became Venezuelan champions.

After the 2014/15 season he moved to the Saudi Arabian club Ittihad FC , but was not allowed to play because the number of non-Asian players specified by the Saudi Arabian Football Association was exceeded after the arrival of the Ghanaian Sulley Muntari .

After six months without match practice, the US second division club New York signed Cosmos Orozco in early 2016. With New York Cosmos he won the final (Soccer Bowl) of the North American Soccer League in 2016. In early 2017, he returned to Zulia FC after six years. In the 2018 season he moved to Colombia, to Deportes Tolima from Ibagué , with whom he became Master of Apertura 2018.

National team

Yohandry Orozco made at least seven U-20 caps for Venezuela between 2009 and 2011 , scoring two goals. He also took part in the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

On March 3, 2010 he made his debut for the senior team against Panama . At the 2011 Copa America , where Venezuela finished fourth, Orozco was featured twice. In the preliminary round match against Paraguay and in the game for third place against Peru, he was in the starting line-up. He played his last of 25 international matches in 2014.
