history

The Church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité in Malay was first mentioned in a document in 1095 . The eastern parts of the church with the choir , transept and crossing were built at the end of the 11th century. The three-aisled nave was not built until the middle of the 12th century . Then the bell tower was built .

architecture

The priory of the Cluny monastery was expanded like a fortress, which the escape gate from the 13th century still attests to today. The west entrance was bricked up and the window on the facade was broken through in the 15th century.

In the 19th century the sacristy was added to the apse and a tower staircase was built. The burnt down church tower was given a stone roof in 1931.
